The Clothing Penn

The Clothing Penn is open for donations and shopping on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9am-noon, and Sundays from 10:30am-noon. We are located on the lower level of the LWRC, and can be accessed by entering the double-glass doors on the side of the building.

The Clothing Penn has been in existence for over 25 years and was started by the late Joan Penner and her husband Don Penner. Joan had a passion for making sure people had access to free, quality clothing and shoes no matter what their life circumstance or situation. The Clothing Penn’s name is in honor of Joan and the legacy she leaves behind.

What we do

We provide free clothing to vulnerable individuals and their families throughout Montgomery County. There are no eligibility requirements to receive clothing. We provide quality clothing -  from casual to professional wear for adults, and clothing for children as well. We also carry shoes and accessories. We hand-pick gently used clothing to ensure quality shopping experiences, and our volunteers are able to help style great looks.

Get Involved!

Volunteering with the Clothing Penn is a rewarding experience for all. Volunteers are involved in every aspect of clothing distribution from sorting, bagging, and tagging clothing and shoes. Our volunteers can volunteer once or on an ongoing basis. We are grateful to our volunteers for their help with our mission of accessible clothing for all.

Get the help you need.
